Illustration of Create a Personalized Family Newspaper with Meta's Muse

But Muse, per my earlier review, just absolutely crushed the family newspaper. It generated this nice little image... It did take two pages, but I'm okay with it if it's really cute. And it has our schedule on one page, and then a cute day-by-day weather, ideas, inspiration on the second page. I just think it's really cute.

Before you start

What you need

  • Agent access to a family calendar
  • Location information for weather data

What you’ll make

A visually appealing, multi-page printable document containing the family's weekly schedule, weather forecast, and activity suggestions, often with a generated header image.

Tools used

  • Meta Muse

Meta's personal AI assistant for family newsletters, personal goals, and browser tasks.

The workflow

Follow the sequence once, then adapt the prompts, checks, and handoffs to your own setup.

4 steps

Step 01

Connect Information Sources

Before starting, ensure Muse has access to the relevant family calendar and knows your location for weather information. This is a prerequisite for generating an accurate newspaper.

In the agent's settings, check that calendar and location services are enabled and connected to the correct accounts.

Step 02

Prompt Muse to Create the Newspaper

Use a simple, direct prompt asking for a family newspaper for the upcoming week. The agent will interpret this and begin creating the document.

Example prompt
Create a printable weekly newspaper for my kids with our schedule, the weather, and some fun activity ideas.

You can also try a simpler prompt like, 'Build a family newspaper for this week.'

Step 03

Review the Generated Artifact

If Muse produces a document, Check the layout, the generated image, the schedule on the first page, and the day-by-day weather and ideas on the second page. Judge whether the result is as 'inviting' and 'cute' as the one described in the source.

The source notes the output took two pages, which was acceptable because the result was high quality. Don't immediately reject a longer-than-expected output.

Step 04

Verify and Print

Before printing, double-check all schedule details for accuracy. Once verified, print the document for your family to use.

The review process is critical; a cute layout does not verify a schedule.

What good looks like

  • The output is a printable artifact, not just a text outline.
  • The design is visually appealing and suitable for a family audience, as described in the source.
  • The newspaper includes key information like the weekly schedule and weather.

Runbook notes

How to recover when the loop fails and where human judgment helps.

If it goes sideways

The agent produces a text outline or instructions instead of a finished, designed newspaper.
Ensure the prompt explicitly asks for a 'printable artifact' or 'newspaper'. Verify that the agent has access to the necessary information, such as a connected calendar.
The schedule or other information in the newspaper is inaccurate.
Manually review all dates, times, and details for accuracy before printing and sharing with the family. The visual appeal does not guarantee correctness.

Human checkpoints

Let routine work keep moving.

  1. Review the generated newspaper for accuracy of schedule and appropriateness of content before printing.
