Analyze Your Sales Pipeline Using Claude Duet's Connected Apps

Use Claude Duet on your phone to quickly synthesize your sales pipeline by leveraging its connections to your existing business apps like your CRM, email, and Slack, saving you from manual data assembly.

Illustrated example: connect sales apps, request a pipeline summary, and validate its findings.

I had it look at my sales pipeline. Nice things there was already connected to Slack was already connected to my email. It was already connected to our CRM. So it was able to pull in that data pretty quickly.

Before you start

What you need

  • Access to a Claude account with Claude Duet enabled.
  • Connected applications (e.g., CRM, Slack, Gmail) that contain sales data.

What you’ll make

A text summary of your sales pipeline, highlighting key deals and activities, generated within the Claude Duet mobile app.

Tools used

The workflow

Follow the sequence once, then adapt the prompts, checks, and handoffs to your own setup.

3 steps

Step 01

Verify App Connections

Before starting, confirm that Claude Duet has access to the necessary data sources. Duet inherits connections from your main Claude account, so check that your CRM, email (e.g., Gmail), and team communication app (e.g., Slack) are already connected there.

If an app isn't connected, add it via the settings in your main Claude account on the desktop. This is a one-time setup that makes future mobile requests more powerful.

Step 02

Prompt the Pipeline Analysis

In the Claude Duet mobile app, start a new conversation or use a relevant channel (e.g., a 'Sales' channel). Ask the agent to analyze your sales pipeline, specifying which sources to use.

Example prompt
Review my current sales pipeline. Pull data from our CRM, recent Gmail threads with customers, and our #sales channel in Slack to summarize the key deals in progress.

Be as specific as possible. Mentioning deal stages, customer names, or timeframes can help the agent produce a more relevant summary.

Step 03

Evaluate the Synthesized Summary

Duet will process your request and return a text summary of the pipeline. Your task is to apply your professional judgment to this summary. Read through the agent's findings and compare them to your own understanding of the current sales activities.

Focus on whether the agent correctly identified the most important deals. An agent can find activity, but human judgment is required to determine which activity deserves attention.

What good looks like

  • The agent successfully accesses data from multiple connected sources.
  • The summary correctly identifies key deals and their current status.
  • The output provides a useful overview without requiring manual data compilation.

Runbook notes

How to recover when the loop fails and where human judgment helps.

If it goes sideways

The agent misinterprets the priority of deals or misses important context from conversations.
Refine your prompt with more specific criteria. For example, specify a deal size threshold, a date range for activity, or particular keywords to look for in your communications.
The agent cannot access a specific data source or returns incomplete information.
Verify that the required app (CRM, Slack, etc.) is properly connected to your Claude account. You may need to re-authenticate the connection.

Human checkpoints

Let routine work keep moving.

  1. Before acting on the analysis, you must personally validate the agent's summary against your own knowledge of the sales pipeline to ensure its accuracy and priorities are correct.
