Build a family TV app that turns parent chosen themes into a continuous YouTube stream behind a child simple interface. Jesse and her coding agent shipped Mira to a Google TV streamer in four days.

Jesse demos Mira, where parents choose themes and children can only play, pause, go forward, or go back, then explains how Cole helped install it on a Google TV streamer.
A TV app with parent controlled streams, a limited child interface, playback history, and an installable build for the family television.
Follow the sequence once, then adapt the prompts, checks, and handoffs to your own setup.
4 steps
Write the family rules before coding: who controls themes, which sources are acceptable, what children can do, and what the app must never expose. Configure a coding agent with the target platform and keep the first version intentionally small.
Build the parent stream setup and child player in short iterations. Jesse's child interface has only play, pause, forward, and back, while the parent side defines themes that generate a continuous sequence of videos.
Build the first version of a family TV app. Parents can define approved themes and optional channel allowlists. The child screen must expose only play, pause, forward, and back, and it must preserve playback history. Do not show YouTube search, comments, recommendations, or account controls. Start with one working stream and a remote friendly interface.
When the first technical approach fails, ask the agent to investigate the target platform and propose alternatives with concrete tradeoffs. Keep the mission clear, but use device documentation and logs to decide among the options.
The current approach does not run on the target Google TV streamer. Inspect the platform requirements and the exact error. Propose the smallest viable route to an installable TV app, including package format, playback method, remote navigation, and steps to test it on the device. Then implement that route.
Treating your agent like an employee and giving it mission-driven directives can unlock more creative and persistent problem-solving.
Package the app for the target TV platform, enable developer installation on the family device, install the build, and test it with the physical remote. Verify content filtering, playback history, restart behavior, and the child's inability to leave the limited player flow.
